Local system crash via unchecked report count

Stack-based buffer overflow in ELAN Smart-Pad through ETD24.21.52.3 allows local users to crash Windows via Intel SMBus recovery. ETDSMBus.sys forwards an unchecked hardware report count to ETD.sys, which uses it as a loop counter to copy into a fixed stack buffer without validating the destination size. Standard user privileges and the Intel SMBus recovery path are required; successful exploitation triggers a kernel bugcheck and system crash without reported data disclosure or modification.
