Authenticated denial of service via unchecked timestart copy
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in UTT HiPER 1200GW 2.5.3-170306 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The ConfigAdvideo handler passes the attacker-controlled timestart value to strcpy at an object offset without checking its length, overwriting a stack buffer. The published proof of concept reaches the handler with administrator Digest authentication and demonstrates the oversized input, but it does not demonstrate code execution.
