Authenticated router crash via unbounded cipher copy
Published Aug 5, 2026 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in UTT HiPER 1250GW through 3.2.7-210907-180535 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router. The /goform/APSecurity_5g handler passes the attacker-controlled cipher parameter to strcpy without checking its length before copying it into a fixed stack buffer. A management session and crafted POST request are required; the published demonstration establishes a router crash, not code execution.
