Application crash via unclamped float-to-text conversion
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in MongoDB BI Connector ODBC Driver before 1.4.9 allows remote authenticated users to crash reading applications. The floating-point-to-text conversion fails to clamp a large value to the destination buffer and writes beyond its end, corrupting adjacent memory. Exploitation requires the ability to store a sufficiently large floating-point value in a collection later read as text through the driver; the documented consequence is process termination.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
