Authenticated root command execution via unescaped config parameter
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
OS command injection in H3C NX15 firmware V100R017 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands as root through /api/esps. The reload.reload_config handler inserts the config parameter into /sbin/config_reload without escaping or filtering, then passes the string to system(). Exploitation requires an administrator web session and a payload within the 31-byte input limit; successful commands run with UID 0.
