CVE-2026-18794Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Memory corruption and service interruption via inconsistent messages

Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026

Improper input validation in OpenRGB 1.0rc3 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash the service via inconsistent protocol data. The protocol parser trusts announced payload lengths up to 4 GB, unterminated strings, oversized array counts, and truncated structures, causing unchecked allocations and out-of-bounds reads or writes. Unauthenticated network access to the server is sufficient; observed outcomes are memory exhaustion and crashes, while memory corruption exposes a more complex privilege-escalation path.
