Unrestricted file upload in Harvard University Dataverse 6.0 through 6.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code. ThemeAndWidgets.xhtml accepts uploadLogo filenames and contents after only client-side image checks, allowing a JSP payload to be stored under /logos. Any user permitted to edit a collection theme can upload a web shell and run commands as the application server account.
