SSRF via unvalidated provider-returned image URL
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
SSRF in Hermes Agent 0.1 through 0.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to trigger host-side requests through xAI image generation. The xAI response parser forwards data[0].url to save_url_image, which calls requests.get without validating the destination or redirect targets. Exploitation requires low-privileged access plus an enabled or relayed xAI provider that returns an attacker-chosen URL, exposing network services reachable from the Hermes host.
