CVE-2026-18772Network attack vector

Denial of service via unbounded render-tree expansion

Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026

Improper memory allocation in Samsung Open Source rlottie allows remote attackers to exhaust memory through crafted Lottie JSON. The precomp traversal and repeater handling build unbounded nested or wide render trees and honor attacker-controlled copy counts, producing exponential allocation growth. Exploitation requires a consuming application to load the crafted animation and user interaction; the bounded impact is availability loss through resource exhaustion.
