Unauthenticated SMTP disclosure and modification via plugin route
Published Aug 4, 2026 · Updated Aug 4, 2026
Improper authorization in KodCloud KodBox 1.67 Build 02 allows remote attackers to read and alter SMTP settings without authentication. The msgWarning plugin exposes getConfig and setConfig through /index.php?plugin/msgWarning/action because public plugin routes bypass login checks and the management API omits an administrator check. No account is required; exposed SMTP credentials can be read, and changing the global mail configuration can disrupt password-reset and notification email.
