Proxy credential disclosure via unmasked toString output
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Information disclosure in MongoDB Java Driver 4.11.0 through 5.9.1 allows local users to recover a proxy password from application logs. ProxySettings.toString() renders the outbound proxy password without masking, and routine client initialization writes that representation to logs. Access to application or aggregated logs is required; exposure permits proxy authentication but no data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
