Authenticated server crash via invalid aggregation options
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Reachable assertion in MongoDB Server 8.3.0 through 8.3.7 allows remote authenticated users to crash the server via an aggregation command. Aggregation handling accepts a $documents stage combined with $_resumeAfter or $_startAt, reaches an internal assertion, and terminates the process. Network access and authentication are required, but an account with no assigned privileges is sufficient; the bounded consequence is interruption of the database service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
