Protected view disclosure via overrideable internal options
Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026
Improper authorization in MongoDB Server allows remote authenticated users to read protected view documents through Atlas Vector Search. The internal $vectorSearch request builder accepts user-provided viewName or collectionUUID options reserved for server generation, allowing them to override the authorized source view. Exploitation requires read access to one view and discloses documents from another protected view without modifying data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.0 <7.0.40
- Affected versionversion=8.0 <8.0.29
