Unauthenticated paid membership activation via unchecked payment confirmation
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Missing authorization in WPEverest User Registration & Membership 5.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to activate paid memberships. The confirm_payment() function processes an unauthenticated confirmation without the validation checks needed to establish that payment processing succeeded before changing membership state. No account or user interaction is required; a reachable WordPress site using paid membership flows can grant gated membership access without payment.
