API token interception via disabled TLS verification
Published Aug 12, 2026 · Updated Aug 12, 2026
Improper certificate validation in Kong Mesh kumactl allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept user or administrator API tokens. When an HTTPS control-plane profile lacks a CA certificate, ConfigureMTLS sets InsecureSkipVerify and sends bearer tokens without authenticating the server. Exploitation requires a manually added HTTPS profile without --ca-cert-file and control of the network path; the default local HTTP profile is unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
