CVE-2026-18648Public exploit

App-private file write via unsanitized share filename

Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026

Path traversal in BlueMail 2.2.305 for Android allows local users to write app-private files via a crafted share intent. FileDirectory.getDataColumn reads the attacker-controlled _display_name column and passes it unchanged to a File beneath getCacheDir, allowing ../ segments to escape the cache directory. A co-located Android app needs no declared permissions; once the exported activity handles the share, settings or databases can be altered and app files corrupted.
