Content spoofing via misleading signature verification
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Content spoofing in affected Foxit PDF Editor and PDF Reader releases allows attackers to present tampered signed PDFs as valid. The signature-validation UI does not accurately reflect signature integrity after appearance or coordinate changes or field duplication. A victim must open and assess a crafted signed PDF; the resulting false-valid indication can cause manipulated document content to be trusted.
