CVE-2026-18617Network attack vector

Cluster-admin escalation via MySQL DSN parameter injection

Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

MySQL DSN injection in Red Hat OpenShift AI allows remote authenticated users to exfiltrate operator files and gain cluster-admin access. The spec.database.customExtraParams JSON string is copied into mysql.Config.Params and serialized by FormatDSN, allowing driver-level options such as allowAllFiles to reach go-sql-driver/mysql. A namespace editor who points externalDB.host to an attacker-controlled MySQL server can request the operator's service account token through LOCAL INFILE and use its cluster-wide privileges.
