Memory corruption via unbounded HTTP cookie copy
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Wavlink WN-series and NU516 firmware through 20260609 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory via HTTP. The lighttpd upload.cgi handler copies the attacker-controlled HTTP_COOKIE value with strcpy without bounding it to the destination stack buffer. A low-privilege session reaches the handler on WN572, WN570H, WN573, WN529, WN530, WN531, WN535, WN536, WN551, WN557, and NU516 devices, where an oversized cookie can crash the web service or alter control flow.
