Unauthorized outbound calls via unguarded exported activity
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Improper access control in textPlus: Text Message + Call 8.3.0 through 8.3.5 allows local users to place outbound calls via another app. DialerActivity is exported without a permission guard and forwards two attacker-supplied intent extras to DialerFragment.onCreate, whose auto-dial branch calls makeCallWithPermissions. Any installed Android app needs no permissions or user interaction, and successful calls consume the victim's credits and present the victim's textPlus number as caller ID.
