Authenticated root command execution via record_size injection
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Command injection in GL.iNet Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) firmware 4.4.0 through 4.4.5 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The logread.set_config RPC method concatenates the record_size value into an insmod shell command passed to os.execute without numeric coercion or neutralization. Remote authenticated users must obtain an RPC session; injected commands run as root, and command output requires separate redirection and retrieval.
