CVE-2026-18511

Code execution via JSSE session buffer overflow

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in IBM’s integrated Power operating system 7.3 through 7.6 allows local users to execute code or crash the JVM. During TLS session establishment, the Native JSSE provider copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length stack buffer without adequate bounds checking. Local authenticated access is required; successful exploitation can execute arbitrary code on the system or terminate the affected JVM process.
