Local code execution as root
Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026
Privilege escalation in Sophos Endpoint before 2026.1.1 and Sophos Home before 10.11.6 allows local users to execute code as root. Sophos has not published the affected component or the authorization operation that accepts attacker-controlled local input. A local account with no elevated privileges or user interaction is sufficient, and successful exploitation grants root-level code execution on the Mac.
