Account takeover via expired reset-token reuse
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Password reset validation in Enhancesoft osTicket before 1.17.8 and before 1.18.4 allows remote attackers to reset accounts with expired tokens. In include/class.auth.php, both staff and client sign-on paths join a successful token-timestamp lookup to the expiry comparison with AND, so the age check runs only when lookup fails. Exploitation requires possession of a previously valid reset token; reuse changes the affected account's password but does not directly interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
