Session takeover via unsanitized custom HTML attributes
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Stored XSS in DFIR-IRIS iris-web 2.4.26 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in other users' browsers. The custom attributes function accepts administrator-supplied HTML values and later renders them without output encoding, so stored script executes when affected attribute views load. An administrator must store the payload and another user must open a view that loads it; session theft can compromise accounts, including application administrators.
