Arbitrary code execution via malformed OGW parsing
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Memory corruption in OriginLab Origin Viewer 9.9.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted OGW project file. The OGW file parser fails to validate attacker-controlled data before using it during parsing, causing memory corruption in the current process. Exploitation requires the logged-in user to visit malicious content or open the file, after which code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
