CVE-2026-18282

Code execution via AVRCP heap overflow

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in AVRCP_Br_Response_Parser in Sony XAV-9500ES 3.02.00 allows attackers to execute code via crafted AVRCP packets. The parser copies length-controlled data from an AVRCP Bluetooth response into a heap buffer without validating that the supplied length fits the destination allocation. Reachability requires a malicious Bluetooth device to pair with the receiver first, limiting exposure to attackers within pairing range, but successful exploitation runs code in the device context.
