Code execution via L2CAP heap overflow
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in Bluetooth L2CAP handling in Sony XAV-9500ES 3.02.00 allows attackers to execute code via crafted packets. The l2_reassemble_sdu path copies a user-supplied L2CAP SDU length into a heap buffer without validating that the claimed packet length fits the destination allocation. Reachability is limited to a paired malicious Bluetooth device, so exploitation requires successful pairing before code runs in the device context.
