CVE-2026-18279

Code execution via RTSP SETUP buffer overflow

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Buffer overflow in RTSP packet handling in Sony XAV-9500ES 3.02.00 allows adjacent attackers to execute code via SETUP packets. The flaw is in SETUP RTSP packet processing, where the device copies user-supplied data into a fixed-length buffer without validating the supplied length first. No authentication is required, but the attacker must reach the device over an adjacent network path that can send RTSP traffic; successful exploitation yields code execution in the device context.
