Command injection in startUpdateProcess in JVCKENWOOD DNR1007XR before 2.0.0003.1000 allows physically present attackers to execute code via crafted update input. The startUpdateProcess method uses a user-supplied string in a system call without proper validation, so shell metacharacters can alter the intended command and run in the root context. Exploitation requires physical access to the device's update path and no authentication, and the published details describe code execution rather than broader persistence or lateral movement.
