CVE-2026-18270

Root escalation via incorrect udhcpd permissions

Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 20, 2026

Privilege escalation in Kenwood DNR1007XR 1.7.0003.1000 allows local attackers to execute code as root via udhcpd. The flaw is in the udhcpd service, which assigns overly broad permissions to a resource it uses, allowing low-privileged code to alter that resource and cross into root context. Exploitation requires prior low-privileged code execution on the device, so exposure is limited to already compromised or otherwise locally reachable units but can end in full device takeover.
