Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode src attribute
Published Mar 7, 2026 · Updated Mar 7, 2026
Stored XSS in Consensus Embed 1.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the consensus shortcode. The shortcode places its user-controlled src attribute into an iframe src value without sufficient sanitization or attribute escaping. Contributor-level access is required to save the payload; it executes in browsers that view the affected page and can act within those WordPress sessions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
