Author-level stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Aug 19, 2026 · Updated Aug 19, 2026
Stored XSS in Crocoblock JetEngine before 3.8.14 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through uploaded SVG files. The plugin adds SVG to the site-wide allowed upload types without sanitizing embedded content, then serves the stored file as image/svg+xml. An account with the upload_files capability, such as Author, must upload the file and a victim must open it; multisite upload restrictions are also overridden.
