Crash and memory disclosure via ICNS decompression
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in gdk-pixbuf allows attackers to crash image-processing applications or expose adjacent heap data through crafted ICNS files. The ICNS loader's uncompress() function decodes RLE data without checking the source buffer boundary before reading each run. A user or consuming application must cause the file to be decoded; the reported consequences are a process crash and limited adjacent-memory disclosure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
