Account takeover via unvalidated Facebook access tokens
Published Sep 6, 2026 · Updated Sep 7, 2026
Authentication bypass in HivePress Authentication 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to impersonate existing WordPress users. The Facebook authenticator forwards an attacker-supplied access token to the Graph API and trusts the returned identity without validating the token audience or application ID. Exploitation requires the victim's valid Facebook access token and grants the victim's WordPress privileges, including administrator access when applicable.
