Authenticated event modification via unchecked quick setup request
Published Jul 28, 2026 · Updated Jul 28, 2026
Authorization bypass in pretix before 2026.4.6, 2026.5.0 through 2026.5.3, and 2026.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter events. The event quick setup view accepts a request for a chosen event without enforcing the caller's configuration-change permission. Exploitation requires limited organizer-level access, an otherwise unconfigured event, and a well-timed request; it can create products or quotas and alter bank-transfer or Stripe settings.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <2026.4.6
- Affected versionversion=2026.5.0 <2026.5.4
