Navigation-restriction bypass via unguarded privileged link opening
Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026
Insufficient input validation in Google Chrome before 151.0.7922.72 allows remote attackers to bypass navigation restrictions. DevTools UIHelpers.openInNewTab passed chrome:// links to the Chrome DevTools Protocol target-creation path without requiring callers to mark the navigation as privileged. Exploitation requires a crafted HTML page and specific user interface gestures; the published impact is limited to a navigation-policy bypass.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
