CVE-2026-17862Hinoki check available

OS-level privilege escalation via freed Tracing object

Published Jul 30, 2026 · Updated Jul 30, 2026

Use after free in Google Chrome Tracing before 151.0.7922.72 on Windows allows local users to gain OS-level privileges via a malicious file. The Tracing component accesses memory after its allocation has been freed; the restricted Chromium issue does not identify the responsible function or lifetime sequence. Exploitation requires local file delivery and user interaction; successful use crosses the browser boundary and raises operating-system privileges.
