CVE-2026-1762

File manipulation via relative-path SFD extraction

Published Feb 10, 2026 · Updated Feb 10, 2026

Path traversal in GE Vernova EnerVista UR Setup before 8.70 allows physically proximate attackers to send incorrect files to UR devices. During firmware upgrades, the software extracts user-selected SFD content and addresses extracted files by relative paths rather than their explicit unpacking location. Exploitation requires physical access and high privileges, and UR IED 8.60 and later validate firmware files before upgrading, limiting the resulting file manipulation.
