CVE-2026-17604Network attack vector

Editor-level arbitrary file read via path traversal

Published Aug 16, 2026 · Updated Aug 16, 2026

Directory traversal in Themeum Kirki through 6.1.1 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files via the data parameter. In includes/Ajax/ExportImport.php, the import/export handler uses a substring-based strpos() check against the uploads base path, so a path such as /wp-content/uploads/../../wp-config.php still passes validation and is read. Exploitation requires editor-level or higher WordPress access and leads to file disclosure in the web server context, with no evidence in the record of file modification or code execution.
