Internal network reconnaissance via email verification
Published Aug 7, 2026 · Updated Aug 7, 2026
SSRF in Sonatype Nexus Repository 3 before 3.95.0 allows remote authenticated users to probe internal hosts through email verification. The email test endpoint accepts arbitrary SMTP host and port values and makes server-side connections, exposing response and timing differences. The account must hold nexus:settings:update, an administrator-only permission by default; the action reveals reachability but exposes no data or persistent changes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
No public exploit references are available in this record.
Labels summarize the accepted research assessment. They do not indicate a test against your environment.
