Subscriber file read and deletion via command-source mismatch
Published Aug 10, 2026 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Improper access control in Bit Apps Bit File Manager before 6.9.1 allows remote authenticated users to read or delete WordPress files. The AJAX connector registers elFinder permission bindings only when cmd appears in the POST body, but executes a cmd supplied in the query string. A Subscriber account and default, never-saved plugin settings suffice to disclose configuration secrets or crash the site by deleting required files; access is limited to the WordPress installation directory.
