CVE-2026-17514Public exploit

Arbitrary file write via prefix boundary bypass

Published Jul 27, 2026 · Updated Jul 27, 2026

Path traversal in ZJONSSON unzipper 0.12.0 through 0.12.3 allows local users to write outside the extraction directory via crafted ZIP entries. Extract and Open.extract normalize each entry path, then accept any result whose raw string begins with the destination rather than enforcing a directory boundary. Exploitation requires archive extraction and a same-prefix sibling path; writes remain limited by the host process's filesystem permissions.
