CVE-2026-17482Network attack vector

Unauthenticated code execution via template file path

Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026

External file-path control in IBM Documentation Offline 1.0.0 through 1.4.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The embedded Node.js server passes an attacker-controlled file path to its template engine without restricting it to an approved location. Network access to the embedded server is sufficient; code runs with the desktop application's privileges, enabling data access, modification, or service interruption.
