CVE-2026-17469

Authenticated service interruption via off-by-one queue-name write

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Off-by-one write in the LPD service on IBMi 7.3 through 7.6 allows local users to interrupt service through a crafted queue name. The LPD queue-name parser writes one byte beyond the intended buffer boundary while processing the attacker-controlled name. An authenticated local session is required, and IBM reports denial of service without data disclosure or modification.
