Local file disclosure via unresolved static-file symlinks

Symlink following in Spark Framework 2.9.0 through 2.9.4 allows remote authenticated users to read local files through HTTP. ExternalResourceHandler checks only whether a normalized path string starts with the configured static root, then FileInputStream follows the unresolved symlink outside that root. Exploitation requires control of a symlink or equivalent filesystem state beneath an external static directory, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the Java process.
