CVE-2026-17351Network attack vector

Database write and code execution via lexer differential

Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026

SQL injection in pgAdmin 4 9.13 through 9.16 allows remote authenticated users to write database data via AI Assistant tool calls. The execute_sql_query validator accepts a payload as one statement because sqlparse treats a backslash as escaping a quote that PostgreSQL treats as ordinary, allowing a smuggled COMMIT to end the read-only transaction. Exploitation requires the AI Assistant to process attacker-planted database content and emit the payload, enabling database writes and database-mediated server code execution.
