CVE-2026-17347Network attack vector

Authenticated command injection via username shell substitution

Published Jul 31, 2026 · Updated Jul 31, 2026

OS command injection in pgAdmin 4 7.2 through 9.16 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as the service account. MASTER_PASSWORD_HOOK replaced %u with an externally sourced username before passing the resulting string to subprocess.Popen with shell=True, so shell metacharacters changed the command. Exploitation requires server mode, a hook containing %u, and OAuth, Kerberos, or webserver authentication.
