Unauthenticated service interruption via out-of-bounds write
Published Aug 13, 2026 · Updated Aug 13, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in the IBM Power operating system HTTP Server allows remote attackers to interrupt releases 7.3 through 7.6. The HTTP Server writes beyond a buffer boundary, but IBM has not disclosed the affected routine, buffer, request field, or trigger conditions. Exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction; IBM reports denial of service and a limited integrity effect without identifying whether the server hangs, crashes, or otherwise stops responding.
