Unauthenticated command execution via undisclosed authentication flaw
Published Aug 20, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Improper authentication in IBM AIX 7.2 and 7.3 and PowerVM VIOS 4.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. IBM identifies the affected bos.mp64 fileset but has not published the authentication flow, network service, or request-handling error. Exploitation requires network reachability but no credentials or user interaction and grants command execution with system-wide impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
